BOOM DE AH DAH NIACINAMIDE CREAM 50ml

I purchased BOOM DE AH DAH Niacinamide Cream 50ml while visiting Seoul, South Korea, after being invited into one of the many skincare shops by a street vendor on one of the city’s busiest beauty shopping streets. Like many visitors to Seoul, I was curious about discovering local skincare brands, and the sales staff were very enthusiastic, encouraging me to buy multiple products as part of various bundle deals and multi-pack promotions. It was definitely an energetic shopping experience, and I decided to give this cream a try.

The packaging is simple and modern, and because the product contains niacinamide, I expected a lightweight brightening moisturizer that would improve skin tone while providing comfortable hydration. Unfortunately, my experience was fairly average, and the product did not stand out from the countless moisturizers already available on the market.

The first thing I noticed was the appearance of the cream itself. It has a rather unusual brown colour, which I personally found quite unappealing. While colour alone has no impact on performance, I generally associate moisturizers with clean white or cream-coloured formulas, so the brown tone was unexpected and not particularly attractive.

The cream is completely fragrance-free, which I appreciated. Those who prefer skincare without added perfume will likely enjoy the fact that it has virtually no scent. The lack of fragrance also makes it suitable for people who are sensitive to heavily scented products.

In terms of texture, the cream spreads easily across the skin and initially feels moisturizing. However, I found that it did not absorb as well as I had hoped. Instead of melting into the skin, it left behind a noticeable sticky film that lingered long after application. Rather than feeling fresh and hydrated, my skin felt coated with a slightly tacky layer that remained throughout the day. This made the product less comfortable to wear, especially under sunscreen or makeup.

As someone who has tried many Korean moisturizers, I was expecting something that would really stand out in terms of texture or performance. Unfortunately, this cream felt quite ordinary. It moisturized reasonably well, but it did not provide any noticeable brightening effect or exceptional hydration that would distinguish it from many other basic face creams. The sticky finish also meant I never found myself looking forward to using it.

Overall, BOOM DE AH DAH Niacinamide Cream is not a bad product, but it also did not leave a lasting impression on me. The fragrance-free formula may appeal to some users, but the unappealing brown colour, persistent sticky film and fairly average performance meant it felt like just another basic moisturizer rather than a memorable Korean skincare discovery. Considering the huge variety of excellent moisturizers available in South Korea, I personally would not choose to repurchase this one.
