Beauty of Joseon Apricot Blossom Peeling Gel 120 ml
Beauty of Joseon Apricot Blossom Peeling Gel initially sounded like a very promising product to me, especially because of the name and the marketing around apricot blossom. I expected a fresh fruity or floral apricot scent that would make the exfoliating experience feel more luxurious and enjoyable, but the product has virtually no fragrance at all. While I understand that some people prefer fragrance-free skincare, the branding gave the impression that the product would actually have an apricot-inspired sensory experience, which was disappointing from the start.
The texture itself is soft, lightweight and extremely gentle. However, this is also where my biggest issue with the product comes in. Like many peeling gels, the rolling particles that appear during use are not actually dead skin or impurities being removed from the face — it is mostly just the gel itself balling up during rubbing. The product creates the illusion of exfoliation rather than delivering a truly deep cleansing or resurfacing effect. After rinsing, my skin felt soft for a short period of time, but I did not notice any meaningful improvement in texture, clogged pores, rough patches or overall skin clarity.
For people with extremely sensitive skin or those who cannot tolerate stronger exfoliants, this may still work as a very mild maintenance product. However, if you are looking for something that genuinely removes buildup, smooths texture or deeply exfoliates, this peeling gel feels far too weak and overly gentle. It almost feels more like a hydrating gel cleanser than an exfoliating treatment. I was expecting a more effective peeling experience and a more noticeable refreshed feeling afterward, but the results were minimal.
The packaging is simple and elegant, which is typical for Beauty of Joseon products, and the formula does not feel harsh or irritating. Still, the overall performance did not justify the hype for me personally. The product may appeal to beginners in skincare or people who are afraid of stronger exfoliants, but anyone experienced with chemical exfoliation or peeling products will probably find it underwhelming.
