JUVENA Moisture Plus Gel Mask Review

Today, I will be reviewing Juvena’s Moisture Plus Gel Mask, from their Skin Specialists range. I received this product for free, as a part of a brand event day at my local town’s beauty store.

I normally very carefully select skincare which I use, since I have acne. I try to avoid moist, hydrating products that only lead to sticky skin in my case.

The shop assistant described this mask to me as a miracle, so I took the sample to try it.

Here is what the packaging looks like:

Juvena Moisture Plus Gel Mask

As it is typical for Juvena, the mask comes in a small amount, compared to the large lid and overall packaging. The full size includes 75ml of the product.

According to the manufacturer’s description, this mask is suitable:

”For skin that is dehydrated, stressed and easily irritated. Based on the JUVENA unique SkinNova SC Technology this fragrance-free and intensely hydrating face gel mask improves skin’s quality. In combination with a moisturizing complex it refreshes, cools and hydrates skin. Intensely hydrated, calmed and soothed skin. Like newly created.”

It is suitable for all skin types.

Ingredients:

Juvena Moisture Plus Gel Mask

“SkinNova SC Technology Taurine Biosaccharide Chondrus Crispus (Oarweed) – Chondrus Crisps re-activates and stimulates cellular metabolism and restores the skin-energy balance. Today, oarweed is used for the production of alginates, but is also served as a kelp vegetable, thanks to its high proportion of minerals and trace elements, most notably potassium and calcium. In cosmetics, it re-activates and stimulates cellular metabolism, and thus restores the skin-energy balance.”

The most interesting ingredient for me is taurine, which is something that can be found in energy drinks. I can imagine that its purpose here is to refresh dull skin and restore its energy.

The direction for use advise to apply to cleansed skin, spare eye area, let work for 10 min. Remove any residues with a tissue or water.

The liquid has a thicker gel texture, which feels as if I was applying a peel-off mask. It has a bluish tint and no smell.

The mask leaves a shiny residue, when you use too much of the product. I would advise you to only use a little amount, which can penetrate into the skin, without any sticky feeling.

After using the product for the first time on my face, it didn’t go well, because pimples showed up shortly. My skin usually reacts badly to very moist, sticky, hydrating products. Next time, I only applied a small layer, which worked.

Personally, I only used this product because I received a free sample. I wouldn’t repurchase again. However, if you have dry skin, this might be a great hydrating mask for you.
